Tricky Cougar Records
Want to party and listen to some sweet music? Good me too.
About Tricky Cougar RecordsTricky Cougar was formed in 2010 by Daniel Henderson. Daniel lived in Nashville and was attending Middle Tennessee State University studying audio engineering and music business. Aspiring to be a recording engineer, Dan started Tricky Cougar as a means to apply his education and help musicians in the TriCities area. Daniel has worked with several local bands, and many of which have seen considerable success. All As One, Dans most recent band to work with has played Warped Tour two years consecutively.
June 2012 TriCities Promotions was started which began to cause a buzz in the local music scene. Bands were being interviewed on the streets of Johnson City before and after shows. The idea came about for "the Local Band of the Month" Lovely Goodbye, VX Gas, and Broken Circle were all three awarded an interview for being the top three voted music groups. Less than a month later Alex Johnson interviewed Kingsfoil, a midstate Pennsylvania band featuring their new drummer Frankie Muniz. The interview with Lovely Goodbye became a pivotal point in TriCities Promotions and with Tricky Cougar Records. We saw the level of seriousness and professionalism Lovely Goodbye possessed, and to say the least we were impressed. One evening Daniel Henderson, Dakota Fletcher, and Alex Johnson were at the Cougar Lounge studio brainstorming ideas on how to market Swamp Fox, and the idea struck: "Why not start our own record label? We have the studio, the music store, and the necessary talent to make it all come together!" That is the general story of Tricky Cougar. There are still many things to be done, and there seems to be an unlimited amout of musical talent in the TriCities area. So we will keep doing what we are doing and have as much fun as possible in the process. Thank you for visiting the Cougar Lounge! Enjoy. |
